AutoRama provides the community with an old fashioned 50’s style diner/drive-in that serves a variety of grilled and fried foods, as well as healthier alternatives. AutoRama is not the everyday low quality fast food restaurant. AutoRama prides itself in the quality of food, and the cheap prices it is able to offer to the community. AutoRama will differentiate itself from its competitors by providing a whole different experience. The food will be old fashioned, and freshly cooked to order. Nice cars are generally all lumped together into a typical stereotype, so cops are especially watching for these â€Å"nice cars† and catching every little thing they do wrong. Even cars that are parked are being harassed. Local businesses complain about unwanted activity after s tore hours. AutoRama Drive N is the answer to those that share a common interest in cars, enjoy hanging out with friends, and meeting new people, all while having true American dining. The restaurant is a startup business set in a mid50’s-60’s era, with parking spots surrounding the building which have an intercom you can order from, while also having an inside dining area. The food will be American based, including tenderloins, hamburgers, hot dogs and ribs in different combinations, all accompanied by a side of fresh cut and seasoned fries. All food is fresh, and made to order. Soft drinks will be made available, with freshly made root beer available on tap. The company is not only to appeal to the car crowd, but to all families. This would be a family safe atmosphere, which is alcohol free. The parking lot would include an acre of parking spots for special events, and everyday customers. This gives plenty of room for car clubs to park together in sections, and also enough room for family vehicles not associated with different groups. The 2005 film, Jarhead focuses on the life of the protagonist Marine, Anthony Swafford. The viewer watches as Swofford endures the vicious training to be a US Marine, which eventually leads to his deployment in Kuwait in to fight the 1990 Gulf War. Undoubtedly, many aspects of the film link back to Gender, however for the purpose of this critical review, I will be focusing on the way in masculinity in Jarhead serves to highlight key ideas about hierarchy and freedom. Although broadly defined, I have interpreted ‘masculinity’ as men being expected to behave with particular characteristics, such as being strong, heroic, protective, and rational. This review will argue that through the focus on Gender, particularly masculinity, Jarhead provides a critique of the military’s dependence on masculinity as a means of shaping the ‘worth’ of men, an aspect which often leads to emotional and mentally isolation and entrapment, as well as raising questions about t he masculinity of the state. Moreover, Jarhead criticises how the repression of aggressive masculinity, as fuelled and promoted military training, can have consequences, as the men do not have an outlet for this aggressive masculinity, for example, combat. As English Literature Coursework Essay I have chosen Sheila and Mr Birling for my two characters because they are completely different from each other and the events which take place in the play change them both in different ways.  Mr Birling is presented as a strong willed individual who only thinks of himself and sometimes of those close to him. He is also made to sound unrealistic and stupid in what he says because he mentions about the Titanic not sinking and the prospect of war being merely a rumour and that it will never happen but the audience who were viewing the play would have known that the Titanic had sunk and two world wars had taken place. Sheila is presented as a pretty girl in her twenties and is said to have been pleased with life and excited. She is first seen as a happy young woman in her family dining room on the evening of her engagement.  The changes these two characters undergo reflect their own personalities and characters but it also represents how people in a modern day society can be so self centred and not have any decent moral responsibility of thinking for other people and how one persons actions or thoughts for another can make a massive difference to how they think of themselves, and how it could affect their future life. An Inspector Calls was written and performed in 1946 but was set in 1912, this means that the audience who were viewing the play were post war and they had been through two world wars and severe economic depression. The post war society would not want to repeat the mistakes of the past but to learn from them and move on.  Arthur Birling was very full of himself and snobby before the Inspector arrived.
